1. Why should I choose [ EyeoftheStorm.net ] Web Hosting? 1. Why should I choose [ EyeoftheStorm.net ] Web Hosting? We pride ourselves on our first-hand experience with Web Hosting. We are mature level-headed professionals and the bottom line is that we provide a reliable quality service. Since the beginning we have worked hard to group superior features with high-end hardware that you can use to accelerate. Just as you take your site seriously, we take the hosting of your site seriously, and we are confident that we have created the ideal environment for your site. But don't take our word for it! Try us for 15 days and if you are not happy, we will refund your money. The question is not "Why?" but rather, "Why not?".
2. How long does it take to set up an account? All new accounts are set-up within 24 hours
of verification. This allows us the time necessary to take the correct preventive measures against potentially fraudulent activities. These measures are for the sake of our company and our community of users.
3. If I want to cancel the service, can I get a refund? We have yet to disappoint anyone with the quality of our service, but we do have a 15-day refund policy for those who join the first time - just in case they change their mind.
4. What are your server specifications?
- Hyperthreaded Dual Xeon systems @ 2.80GHz per CPU 5. Why don't you offer unlimited storage and bandwidth like other Web Hosts?Sorry to tell you, but there is no such thing as "unlimited" bandwidth and storage. Every company has a limit because every server has a limit. The "unlimited" gimmick is a common marketing ploy used by some companies to get people to sign up with them. Also, think about the server: If sites are using an unregulated amount of server resources, what sort of environment does that put your site in? The answer: An unstable environment. That is why reasonable limits are necessary.
6. What is "overselling"? Do you oversell?Overselling is when a company offers more resources than it actually has available. Let's say that Joe has 5 apples, but tells you that he will sell you 10 apples at the price of 5 apples, in the hope that before you get to the 5th apple you will be full. As a matter of fact, Joe is counting on this. Now imagine that Joe is telling this to 1000 people. This is another marketing ploy that can easily spell disaster for all involved.
7. Why is there a limit on the number of email lists an account is permitted to have? While we understand the usage of an email list as a community and/or marketing tool, we are all aware of the unwanted and often damaging effects of SPAM. We have a zero tolerance stance on unsolicited email, both coming to and going out from our servers. Hence we require that all email lists are approved for use on our servers. Furthermore, only low traffic lists with no more then 500 users are permitted. Lastly, your list must be double opt-in with a link to unsubscribe in every mailing. Failure to comply to these rules will result in account suspension and possible termination.
8. Why don't you offer SSH access? Some people view SSH as an efficient and/or preferred method to access the server, yet it is a potentially high risk method as well. In our opinion, anything that you would need to do to your account can easily be done via one of the many FTP programs available on your easy-to-use control panel.
9. Do you offer Domain name registration?90% of our users come to us with domains already registered. At this point in our company's development, we would rather keep our focus on hosting and creating a productive environment for our users.
10. Will you ever offer Multiple Domain Hosting? That's coming down the pipeline very soon, so stay tuned! If you like, you can email us and we will contact you the moment this option becomes available.
11. What if I want to pay semiannually or annually, rather than monthly? There are both advantages and disadvantages to different payment arrangements. As far as we are concerned, paying monthly often means that our users won't feel trapped into anything. They know that there is no contract or complications which can arise from a contract. Also, month-to-month payments make it easier to upgrade if you need to do so.
12. What if I have more questions?Well ask away because we have plenty more answers! We look forward to hearing from you.
